DAVID SCHEERER, MFA SCREENWRITING Director-Producer-WriterI am an independent filmmaker & documentary scholar who has taught at the university level for thirty-five years while professionally directing, producing and scripting award-winning fiction and documentary films through my company Orpheus Pictures Entertainment.I have extensive professional experience as a producer, line-producer, screenwriter and director. While most of my professional above-the-line credits (PBS, The Discovery Channel, etc.) have been as a documentary writer, director and producer, I am a master storyteller in any genre. I have written dozens of non-fiction scripts (including features) and six feature-length fiction scripts. I also have extensive experience as a UPM, 1st AD, and Script Supervisor. I just haven't listed these on my resume since they're below-the-line skills. I am now retired from teaching, living near Park City in Kamas, Utah - and interested in working in any capacity on any film assignment, Above OR Below the line - just because I love it and I know what I'm doing.
