Originally from New York City and currently based in Utah, Matthew Buckner is a film professional specializing in props, armory, and practical on-set logistics. He has lived and worked across multiple production hubs including New York, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and parts of Europe, contributing to narrative film, television, features, reality, and commercial productions.
Matthew brings a strong balance of creative support and operational reliability, with hands-on experience sourcing, handling, and maintaining prop weapons and practical props in fast-paced production environments. He is highly safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and trusted for his calm presence under pressure.
In addition to department work, Matthew has extensive experience in close-support and assistant roles on productions involving high-profile talent, requiring discretion, adaptability, and clear communication. He works comfortably alongside directors, producers, actors, and department heads, and is known for anticipating needs before they become issues on set.
Matthew is available for work as a Prop Master, Armorer, Assistant Props, and related production support roles, and is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, organization, and professionalism throughout all stages of production.

• Firearms safety, handling, and on-set protocols
• Experience with blank-firing and non-firing prop firearms
• Knowledgeable in sourcing prop weapons, replicas, and practical alternatives
• Strong understanding of chain-of-custody, storage, and safety procedures
• Comfortable working directly with actors to ensure safe, confident use of props
• Logistics coordination, prep, returns, and inventory management
• Experience managing departmental and personal budgets
• Previous assistant and close-support work on productions involving talent such as Milo Ventimiglia and Trace Adkins
• Trusted with discretion, scheduling awareness, and on-set coordination for principal talent
• Eagle Scout (Boy Scouts of America); trained in leadership, preparedness, and outdoor skills
• Comfortable working in rugged, outdoor, and remote filming environments
• Experience with country and western settings and culture
• Winter conditions experience, including snow, cold-weather logistics, and mountainous terrain
• Downhill skiing experience
• Physically capable of long days, lifting, transport, and hands-on production work
• Valid driver’s license; experienced with production vehicles
• Willing and able to travel for productions
