Erika aims to efficiently meet the demands of working Crew for film and commercial productions in a manner that will contribute to a comfortable working environment for both Cast and Crew alike. Throughout her time working in the film industry, Erika has offered her services as a Production Assistant to various departments on set, such as Makeup and Hair, Art, and Camera Crew. Erika hopes to expand her film crew experience as a Production Assistant as she enjoys the opportunity it has given her to try on many hats and gain a more wholistic view and appreciation for the entire production process of a project, whether it be film, television, and/or commercial. She is always eager to take on new opportunities and excels at adapting to new challenges.
Erika has also spent time on film sets as an actor in addition to her time as part of film crews. She enjoys any chance she can get to be a part of the storytelling process, regardless of whether it is in front of or behind the camera. Her acting career has provided opportunities for her to work in numerous production settings as well – documentaries, feature films, and commercials just to name a few. These varied experiences have taught Erika the different needs that different types of projects have as no set is ever the same. In addition to Erika’s film career, Erika also has an academic background in theatre production. She began her undergrad as a Theatre Arts Studies major and spent her first couple of years working on the design and execution of wardrobe, set design, props, and wigs on a number of university productions. She later transitioned her academic career over to Media Arts where she is currently studying media from more of a graphic design and post-production lens. This wide range of experiences within the world of media and the performing arts has helped her develop an abundance of skills that transfer well from one storytelling medium to another. Applying these amassed skills has allowed Erika to gain a greater appreciation for and understanding of all the gears that come together to make for a smooth, successful production.
