I shoot stills on the Hasselblad H6D-100c, a medium format 100MP digital camera where precision and detail matter. I have my own studio for portrait and product work and also lead wilderness tours for nature and landscape photography.Much of my stills work is with large format fine art printing in mind and I run my own print studio where I produce framed and mounted works up to 44" by 92" My video work has predominantly been festival and event coverage with some documentary style projects. I began video with the Canon C100 mk II and kept two of them for interview work as they are well suited to this. My main camera is the C300 mk II equipped as an ENG style rig with the very capable CN17x7 cine-zoom lens.In addition to the cameras I have a relatively mobile kit of lights and stands. Audio is via a mix of on and off camera microphones (3 x AKG and 3 x Sennheiser). I have three tripods and a Tilta stabilizer vest for supporting cameras. Lastly, I have a 24ft video crane with a remote pan tilt head (the pan tilt head is poorly designed and not as practical as anticipated but allows for basic movements)
I have had a life time passion for photography, a self taught career in videography, and long professional career in electronics. My lifestyle has always been adventurous and mixed well with field work requirements. In the past I have held advanced first aid certificates, working at height, security clearance for work on International Airports and the National Road and Rail Corridors in New Zealand. I have worked alongside many teams in challenging environments installing and maintaining equipment. I've done video projects working around stages, lighting and audiences at festivals and events. I am adaptable and capable and can rig up my gear to cover a lot of content on my own if needed. This allows me to capture more candid moments, behind the scenes insights and respond quickly to situations as they occur. While I am happy to hand off footage, I can also edit in DaVinci Resolve which makes me a good choice for small projects where a client might only want to deal with one person.
