Production Designer with 20+ years in film, television, and commercial production. Trained as both a filmmaker and an entertainment illustrator — MFA in Film Directing and BFA in Illustration (Entertainment) from ArtCenter College of Design — which means I read a script the way a director reads it and visualize it the way a designer sees it. That combination directly affects every decision from concept through final dress. On set I am hands-on, department-managing, and budget-conscious. I work at the level the production requires — from full department oversight on features to lean, flexible execution on tight-budget shoots. I have designed period pieces, genre films, and commercial work. I concept, I draft, I source, I build when necessary, and I supervise.Beyond production design, I bring additional capabilities that productions regularly draw on: graphic art and on-screen assets, prop fabrication, miniature construction, set photography, and concept illustration. I have redesigned script elements for visual and cultural accuracy when production required it.
Need a hero pecan at the exact moment of ripeness? While someone else is calling prop houses, I've got clay and acrylic paint out. Need a specific rock with those exact swirls — or you had a fractured stone but now it's a period-accurate Aztec amulet because it catches the eye on screen? Done. Need a miniature built, a set photographed, a period poster designed, or a script element rethought? I can do it or I know a guy.Productions travel. I do too. Panama. Costa Rica. Mexico. Germany. I speak Spanish, I know the cultures, and I've been in those rooms. Your art department won't be lost in translation.
