Chance Anderson has been surrounded by film and music his entire life. He is from Wylie, Texas where he began his career in music and audio in high school. Ever since seeing Interstellar in the movie theater in 2014, he knew he wanted to have a career in film sound. This inspired him to compete in his first film contest where he worked in a small closet with only a notation software and a MIDI keyboard, and won the CINE Marvin Hamlisch International Youth Film Scoring Competition in 2017. He accepted his award in New York the following year.He currently lives in Santa Monica, California where he works as a re-recording mixer and audio editor as a member of both CAS and MPSE. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he is received his BA in Commercial Music, with an emphasis in post sound mixing and audio engineering, in the School of Music. Alongside the experience of working on student and professional films doing post production audio and music composition, his education had also given him the opportunity to work in multiple recording studios both on and off campus. He's highly skilled on an SSL Duality Fuse studio console using both Dante and analog connections as well as Avid S1 and Avid S6 control surfaces. He is very proficient in utilizing Pro Tools for audio recording, editing, and mixing, and uses Cubase for his own music productions. Chance also has experience in immersive audio formats, having worked on many projects in different surround sound formats such as 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos.
